So I read that Mike Portnoy has joined Avenged Sevenfold full time and I almost threw up. It made me really nostalgic and kind of depressed. Like seriously, what is he thinking?? Anyway, I just needed to make a list of GOOD metal to set my head straight. 2000-2010 was an incredibly diverse decade.  This list includes the straight ahead death metal/progressive death metal side of things.  Black Metal, Grindcore, and more experimental/avant garde would need their own lists.  Metal has many subgenres and there is so much material that I can't account for, but trust me, I know what's out there. So I'm in a band called Lazerdad with Devon Fox.
